Upper Phase Extra Curricular Clubs

       

 

Board Games and Jigsaw Club (Friday)- Mrs. B-T - Key Stage 2

Board Games and Jigsaw club meets every Friday after school with opportunities to competitively play against each other in a variety of traditional and new board games, or collaboratively work together on puzzles and jigsaws to practice our strategic thinking, communication, and empathy when the results don’t go our teammate's way! 

We aim to become team players by encouraging each other in our achievements and helping one another to further learn and improve to enjoy our games.  

We believe that Board Games and Jigsaws are for everyone across KS2, so if you wish to join our club please contact Mrs. B-T and complete a registration form. Diolch.

 

Project Club (Tuesday) - Mrs. Hellier Year 3 and 4

The project club will give the children the opportunity to research subjects that they are interested in and present them to the group when they are ready. They can present and research using a variety of media, it may be that they research using child-friendly online search engines and present using a PowerPoint. 

 

Rugby Club (Tuesday) - Mr. Popham Year 3 and 4

Have you ever wanted to play rugby? Do you enjoy learning new skills? The Rugby Club could be for you! Rugby Club gives us a chance to practice our skills and technique, play games to help our strategic thinking, and take on different roles as part of a team. Rugby Club is a fantastic way to learn something new, build your confidence, and have fun with your friends.

 

Drawing Club (Wednesday) - Mr. Mayhew Year 3

Drawing club gives pupils the opportunity to develop and practice their drawing techniques. They explore a range of skills thinking about, light, shade, shape, form, colour, and composition. Pupils will also use their observational and listening skills as they follow tutorials and draw objects from real life.

We aim to encourage pupils to use their imagination and work both individually and collaboratively.

We believe that the drawing club can help pupils develop their resilience, perseverance, determination, and self-confidence in a fun way. They will learn through trial and error, experimenting, peer and self-evaluation, and making improvements. Come and join us in the drawing club and be the best artist you can be!

 

Orchestra (Wednesday) - Mr. Jefferies and Mrs. Norbury Y3-6

Orchestra gives the pupils the opportunity to develop their instrumental skills and work as part of a team towards a common goal. They will develop their resilience and determination skills, as they learn new music and enjoy performing in an ensemble with their peers.

 

Coding Club (Monday) - Mr. Hardway and DVLA volunteers Y3-4

Do you enjoy coding? Do you enjoy being creative? Do you want to improve your coding skills? Then Coding Club is the club for you!

Coding Club gives us the opportunity to practice our coding skills through fun, creative coding activities. It is an opportunity to progress our skills, learn from mistakes, and create stories, games, and much more online. So, if you enjoy coding, want to build your confidence in coding, or simply want to give Coding Club a try, why not sign up and come along!
