Oaktree Nursery & Parkland Flying Start

Oaktree Nursery is located at Parkland Primary School Sketty Park, Swansea, and aims to provide high-quality, affordable full-day childcare where children can develop and learn through many different play opportunities.

Oaktree Nursery has a partnership arrangement with Flying Start and provides 12 free childcare places for eligible families within a designated postcode area.

We are passionate about caring for and supporting children to develop through the early year development stages.  We are a family-focused day-care nursery and we provide quality and caring childcare by qualified staff with no hidden costs or added extras.

We like to promote positive values, attitudes, and good behaviour.  The aim of the nursery is to stimulate your child in a safe, caring, and stable environment and to ensure that your child really enjoys the experience of coming to Oaktree and making new friends whilst having lots of fun.  Oaktree has use of the school grounds and we love outdoor play come rain or shine.  The enclosed grounds have many trees and grassy areas with a dell that we can explore on our wellie walk days or Teddy Bear picnics.    

Staffing:-

Our friendly and professional team have a wealth of experience and all have a minimum of level 3 in childcare along with degrees in Child development as well as Food Hygiene, Child Protection, and First Aid. 

We are fortunate to have a fluent Welsh speaker and two Bengali speakers as childcare workers.

We offer flexible full or part-time session options for you and we are open from Monday to Friday from 7.45 to 5.30 term time only in line with Parkland school holidays and inset days. Flying Start children are entitled to an extra five sessions.   We are often able to accommodate additional hours of care at short notice in cases of emergency and we are committed to supporting you and your child.

We are registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) Registration Number W1600002723 where you are able to read our full report.  We are registered for 24 children between the ages of 2 years and 4 years 11 months in all of our five sessions.

You are able to choose whatever sessions that are suitable for your needs. Each session has its own price and fees are paid a month in advance.

We are also affiliated with the 30 free hour scheme for 3-year-olds and all childcare voucher schemes and government funding schemes are all welcome.

Our childcare workers are dedicated to their role and delivering the Early Years Curriculum with the main aim of easing them gently into a structured school routine.  Our team works closely with parents and carers giving your child lots of different experiences and opportunities to help prepare them for the future. 

Oaktree Nursery also enjoys a close liaison with everyday life at Parkland Primary school.
